Teddy Bear Sleepover Tuesday, April 25th

Join Miss Alicia from GMPL and Miss Diane from the GM School, at the GM Public Library on Tuesday, April 25th, from 6:00 pm to 7:30 pm, for an evening of bedtime snacks and bedtime stories. This is a FAMILY event, an adult must accompany any children attending. It is open to families with children in ECFE, and open to families with children ages Pre-K – 1st grade. Children (adults, too) are encouraged to come dressed in jammies. Don’t forget to bring your favorite stuffed animal and feel free to bring your blankie or sleeping bag.

The Grand Meadow Library will be hosting a clothing/miscellaneous item drive this week (June 22nd – June 25th). Please help support the Grand Meadow Library. Local communities helping local communities.
There will be sheds to drop off your donated items at the GM library. Please click the link below to see the flyer and list of items that can and cannot be taken, and the hours they will have the sheds open for drop offs.

2016 Library Summer Events

We are geared up and ready for summer!  The Summer Reading Program starts next Tuesday, June 7th and runs through Friday, June 17th.  2016SRPcalendareventsThe Summer Art program starts on Friday, June 17th and runs through Friday, July 15th (no class over the 4th of July Weekend. The 4th annual Treasure Hunt is Thursday June 23rd.  The Family Fun Night has moved to Thursday this year also!  Plan on joining us Thursday, June 23rd from 6pm to 8pm for a great night of fun at our Family Fun 50’s Sock Hop. There will be photo booth to take pictures at, snacks, and lots of music and dancing.  Dress up in your favorite 50’s costume! Think about the movie “Grease” when planning what to wear 😉

We are planning activities that will run throughout the day each day of the week (Tues – Fri) from 10 am to 5 pm.  You can check out activity packets and games to use and play with while you are here.  Many learning opportunities to keep young minds active over the long summer months.

The Annual Quilt Raffle is going on now as well!  You can purchase tickets from any library board member or at the library.  One ticket for $1.00, or six tickets for $5.00.  Drawing will be held on Saturday, June 25th, during Meadowfest.  You do NOT need to be present to win.  Winner will be contacted by phone.2016 quilt raffle

We are taking registrations for our Summer Reading program and the Traveling Art Trailer Summer Art Program. You can sign up with the online forms below. Sign Up Today!

Reading program will run Tuesday through Friday for two weeks in June.  June 7th – 17th, all classes start at 10 am, but all activities will remain out and available to the children until an hour before close each day.

The Traveling Art Studio starts in June and runs through July on the following Fridays:  June 17th & 24th and July 8th & 15th.  There are classes at 10 am and 11 am.

FREE TICKETS for the CIRCUS in Austin, next Friday, March 11th


The Center Ring Circus will be at the Austin National Guard Armory (800 21st St), on Friday March 11th, with shows at 5 pm and 7 pm.  Doors open one hour prior to the show.

circus picTickets allow two children, 14 yrs. and under, free admission with a paying adult.  Adult tickets can be found online at www.center-ring-circus.com.  I have checked into the site, and it looks like the tickets are $10.00 per adult when bought online before the show.

No Lions, or Tigers, or Elephants, so no big scary animals to worry about.  They do advertise lots of laughs, moon bounce, thrills, chills, pony and camel rides.
